New Zealand Rack of Lamb

An unparalleled gastronomic experience...to say the least! My partner and I began our culinary journey on Friday, October 22nd @ 8:00 P.M. with an amuse-bouche hors d'œuvre consisting of freshly baked bread and champagne infused grapes accompanied by a Gruyère fondue. The cheese was Heaven in liquid form! For a starter, we chose the Escargot - the flavor truly came out of it's shell (pun intended=) To follow, we had The Black Pearl and Caesar salads. The roughage was moist and crisp with diabolical flavors! Seriously, probably the best Caesar salad that I have ever had the pleasure to consume! After the salads and before the entrée, we were given a palate cleanser of homemade Granny Smith Apple sorbet. It was akin to taking a bite out of Autumn! Spectacular! For our entrées, my partner selected the New Zealand Rack of Lamb and I went with the Hereford Filet Mignon! Two of the best decisions we have ever made with regard to food! The meats were tender, velvety and bursting with flavor! 86 that - EXPLODING with flavor! My better half had never tried lamb and now he's "shepherd's hooked" for life! For dessert: he chose The Black Pearl's Licorice ice cream and I opted for the Vanilla Bean scoops! Ben & Jerry could learn a thing or two from your chef! Just say'in! To close the meal, chef presented us with gratis Belgian chocolates, slightly infused with cayenne pepper! Sweet n' Spicy and everything Nicey! Wow! The decor was minimalist, to encourage conversation, yet chic and extremely intimate, as the restaurant seats only 36 at capacity! Our server Peter was both a gentleman and a scholar! He was extremely knowledgeable and attentive! Kind, clever and witty, with a charming sense of humor! Truly a master at his craft! You made us feel overly welcome sir, and we greatly appreciate that! Suffice to say, you are doing yourself a disservice If you have not dined at The Black Pearl of Dunedin, FL! Of this you can be certain...we shall return! Bon Appétit =)

White Truffle Lobster Risotto

There's not many places in the Tampa Bay Area as iconic as The Black Pearl. I can still remember my first dinner there, my first anniversary with my wife (then girlfriend, 15 years ago) and this has been a standard bearer go to place for us ever since then. The food has evolved, but has never lost its luster. There has never a meal I have not enjoyed here and looking forward to many more.

White Truffle Lobster Risotto

The risotto was to die for, hands down the best I've ever had! The flavors were perfectly paired and the presentation was STUNNING. Their drink selection is also incredible and the ambiance is perfect for an intimate celebration with loved ones or date night. This spot is one of my favorite hidden gems and I swear whenever I'm asked for a romantic date night recommendation I ALWAYS tell people to take the trip over to Dunedin to the Black Pearl…. It's worth the drive 😉😍

Chilean Sea Bass Lyonnaise

The Black Pearl is one of the best restaurants in Florida! My husband and I have made a favorite dish out of the Chilean Sea Bass. It is pure decadence and the quality never falters. Their wine selection is also top notch and the ambiance is so unique to any other restaurant in our area. Keep up the amazing food! We can't wait to go back.

Chilean Sea Bass Lyonnaise

This restaurant was THE best restaurant I have EVER been to. The service was top notch, the food was incredible, and the ambiance was perfect. I want to celebrate all my birthdays and anniversaries at the Black Pearl for years to come. I recommend and tell everyone about this restaurant. It's a must try!!!!

New Zealand Rack of Lamb

From the moment you walk into the restaurant it has a very intimate feel & you know your about to have an amazing dining experience. The Black Pearl house salad will get your mouth dancing with their warm poppyseed dressing. I've had the New England Rack of Lamb almost every time I've come there for now almost 18 years. I've come for dinner for a special & exceptional experience & they never disappoint with their fantastic flavors & there is nothing that compares to the love they put into their food at The Black Pearl. By far my favorite restaurant on the planet!!

The Black Pearl is the best kept secret in all of Tampa Bay. Not only delicious food, but truly intimate with exquisite service and hospitality. Hands down a date night must. If you don't take your date here, we'll you're missing out. Make that reservation, you will not regret experiencing this unique, charmed place and I bet if you've never been, you will go back again again once you do.

Escargot En Croute

Best escargot I've ever had. Being a Dunedin native, this is my go to spot for special occasions. Top notch service and atmosphere add to the delicious food.
